French vintage Limoges porcelain tall and slender hand painted footed coffee cup. This is a traditional French coffee mug without handle called "mazagran", named after a city in Algeria, and likely a shape, style, and tradition brought to France in the 1800s during times of war. It is thought that this style of cup was used for alcoholic or iced coffee drinks. This one is unique and commemorates the French revolution with its hand painted motif in blue, white and red. It bears a date: 1792 which is that of the French First Republic.
This classic french coffee container would be lovely for serving a café latté, tea or hot chocolate. It would also make a lovely dessert presentation for ice cream or chocolate mousse. And why not use it to put toothbrushes in the bathroom?
